My chariot arrives out front of my home, top down with an impeccably plaid lad behind the wheel. Kent and I whip through Eden Park, my purple plaid kerchief fluttering in the wind, as we excitedly head to Mount Adams to what would be a fabulous evening.
We arrive at The Palisades and take the elevator straight up to the penthouse. This special event is to honor our sponsors, hosts & hostesses for our first annual Party in Plaid benefitting Caracole.
Caracole’s Mission is “— is to provide safe, affordable housing and supportive services for individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS.”
Founded in 1987, Caracole House was the first licensed adult care facility in Ohio for people living with HIV/AIDS. Today, Caracole serves more than 1300 clients living in an eight county region in Southwest Ohio with six primary programs.
The guests arrived in a variety of vintage, cowboy and summer plaid. One of the esteemed honorees even came toting a handmade jaw dropping plaid mini dress. Great convos, appetizers by Jeff Thomas and city views weaved throughout the evening. We announced the successful fundraising endeavors, history of the organization and strategy for the YP host and hostesses to encourage the young professionals of the city to help engage and start supporting the non-profits so they continue to grow and serve.
The evening offered insight, education, passion and excitement for the upcoming event. We had an awesome turn out for the Pre-Party for Party in Plaid last Thursday night at the Palisades in Mount Adams. It was like a pep rally that generated a lot of interest and excitement for the event. May the energy and anticipation continue to ramp up as we get closer to August 3rd. Want this to be a huge success for Caracole–the first of many Parties in Plaid we have to look forward to!!
